| PRESS RELEASE Robert Gimlin to Make First Seattle Public Appearance at the First Annual Seattle Sasquatch Symposium Seattle, WA The Seattle Museum of the Mysteries is plea sed to announce the special appearance of Robert Gimlin of the famous 1967 PattersonGimlin Bigfoot film at the First Annual Seattle Sasquatch Symposium, June 5, 2005, at Seattle Center. The Patterson-Gimlin film is still considered the best evidence for the existence of Sasquatch. A replica of the Skookum Cast, a cast made near Mt. St. Helens where a Sasquatch is said to have laid down will also be on public display. The cast is considered the second best evidence for Sasquatch and will be its first public display in Seattle where attendees can see first hand the size and details up close. The Patterson-Gimlim film is most famous for its image of a Sasquatch, believed to be a female looking over her shoulder and has become an icon of Sasquatch legend. The film is considered to be one of the most controversial films in the world. Taken October 20, 1967, at Bluff Creek, California, it is a Kodachrome II, 16-mm film showing a hominoid creature walking across a sandbar. Mr. Gimlin was accompanying Roger Patterson on a three-week expedition to search for Sasquatch footprints when the film was shot. This will be Mr. Gimlinıs first Seattle public appearance since the film made its historical debut in 1967. Mr. Gimlin has never wavered in the details of his testimony that what he saw was an actual Sasquatch creature, and he has not gained financially from either the film or any appearances. Other prominent Sasquatch researchers at the Seattle symposium will be presenting evidence of newly discovered features found in the film supporting the belief that the subject is an actual Sasquatch as opposed to ³a man in a gorilla suit², such as the creatureıs height/arm and leg length ratios, rippling of its flesh, and flexion in its hands and feet. Other features discovered will also be introduced based on recent digital analysis of the film. Complementing Mr. Gimlinıs appearance will be lectures by John Green, Chris Murphy, Dr. John Bindernagel, and Owen Caddy. All media must register at the admissions desk at the conference at Seattle Center Northwest rooms.
